This module covers a range of essential tips and tactics to help artists, labels, managers and their wider teams to optimise their streaming profiles in order to ensure they reach the widest and most applicable audience across the key Western streaming platforms. These include tools and ideas to help you build your pre-save campaigns, plus on-platform and third-party advertising inside streaming services and a dive into how to develop your playlisting strategy.
We look at the different levels of customisation available within the main streaming platforms; look at how to integrate merch and ticketing into them; provide tips for how to build audiences and drive further growth; explore different playlist strategies; and provide an overview of the crucial differences between algorithmic versus editorial playlists.
Finally we explain how to ensure you have optimised your searchability within YouTube and provide tips on how to open up your content to a global audience, how to embed videos and playlists as well as tagging, and categorisation best practice.
The course is supplemented by summary slides which provide a useful precis of everything presented in the course; as well as links to relevant Music Ally and external content and also downloadable PDFs from our premium business service that help augment the video with additional insight and analysis.
At the end of the course is a quiz based on the key topics covered in the module. The pass rate is 70% and all participants who pass the course will receive a dated certificate from Music Ally for this particular module.
By the end of this course you should have learned how to ensure that your profile on the key western streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Deezer) is optimised to best reach your fans; and you should understand the basics of building campaigns on the streaming platforms too.
