Music Ally sits at the intersection of music and technology. We are a global knowledge and skills company publishing daily news, insight and reports on the changing face of the music industry and training music professionals around the world on how to market music and navigate the digital landscape.
Over time we, like the music business, have evolved: particularly in response to the new breed of empowered artists and managers, building sustainable careers in a fairer system. We still publish our daily news bulletin and fortnightly reports for our global network of subscribers, but we also provide more hands-on marketing, audience development and release services, working directly with artists, labels and managers on their strategy and implementation
We have always maintained a balanced view, mainly paid for by subscriptions rather than advertising. And it is this independence, history and practical engagement with the industry that helps us to distil our knowledge and insights into training and skills development with a particular focus on modern music marketing and release strategies. Since 2008 our training and development content and workshops have been used by music professionals around the world. You can find out more about our training services here.
Music Ally also plays a role connecting our different communities by organising regular conferences, including NY:LON Connect, Music Ally NEXT and Sandbox Summit in locations like London, New York, and Tokyo.
The next phase of evolution for the global music business will revolve around hundreds of millions of new music consumers in markets like India, China, Latin America and Africa, as well as the transition to streaming in markets still dominated by physical sales, like Japan. Music Ally publishes regular country profiles and analysis from journalists in these markets; we have recently launched a fully-localised version of our editorial service in Japan. We have an office in Medellín, Colombia and have a knowledge platform for the Latin music industry called MUdaL in partnership with Spotify for Artists.
In addition we publish in Chinese on WeChat through a partnership with Shanghai based music firm Kanjian, and we are also the lead partner and provide content and mentoring to the Music Business Academy for Africa .
Our clients are across the music and technology sectors, and include all of the major labels, many independents, music publishers, management companies and music platforms like Spotify, Amazon, Facebook and Google.
